The Rate Estimate API is bundled with the ShipIt specifications. A RateIt request contains the data needed to calculate the estimated charges for a shipment with DHL. Please note that all shipments are subject to reweigh, dimensionalization, and fees assessed at the destination (residential delivery for example), so the rate returned by the Rate Estimate API must be considered and treated as an estimate only.

You can integrate DHL rating into your internal customer service application or external order processing system. This allows you to offer online rate estimates to your customers, reducing calls to your customer service operation.

RateIT uses secure and reliable technologies to provide a direct interface with the DHL-USA.com billing application. HTTP delivers your data over the internet in real time. Your data is only accessible with your ID and password.

How to Order:
If you are interested in the XML API’s you have the choice of either implementing a DHL-certified third party vendor module or developing your own solution.

Option 1:
If you choose to develop your own solution will need to have your application certified by XML API support but can opt / specify what features (or limitations) your application will be certified under. Vendors will need to certify to the full set of requirements in order to have their solution recognized as a DHL-certified third party vendor module.

If you want to implement a third party vendor module you will be granted production access to those API's for which that module has been certified.
