The XML API is a B2B application that allows DHL customers to programmatically connect to DHL systems as means of accessing DHL shipping services.

Presently, the XML API supports the following:

• International Shipping (US origin based only)
• Tracking
• Rating

These services are handled by the following XML API products. Note that these API's can be used together or independent of each other, as your needs dictate.

• ShipIT
• RateIT
• TrackIT

If you are interested in the XML API’s you have the choice of either implementing a DHL-certified third party vendor module or developing your own solution.

Option 1:
If you choose to develop your own solution will need to have your application certified by XML API support but can opt / specify what features (or limitations) your application will be certified under. Vendors will need to certify to the full set of requirements in order to have their solution recognized as a DHL-certified third party vendor module.

Option 2:
If you want to implement a third party vendor module you will be granted production access to those API's for which that module has been certified.
