DHL U.S. Olympic Spirit Cards Contest: The Judges
Teachers participating in the DHL U.S. Olympic Spirit Card Contest program are asked to select
one winner from among their classroom's entries in order to narrow down the number of
entries for consideration as well as to obtain additional information about the finalists
which should be considered in the decision-making process.
Teachers will select their classroom winner based upon creativity, originality, artistic merit, understanding and interpretation of the theme, "What does Olympic Spirit Mean to Me?", and any other extenuating circumstances surrounding the student and his/her Spirit Card. The winning artwork should be clearly marked within the submission packet and include a detailed justification from the teacher for selecting the classroom winner. The winning work of art for each classroom as selected by the classroom teacher will be automatically classified as a finalist within the DHL U.S. Olympic Spirit Cards Contest. Any additional finalists will be those identified as any others deemed worthy at the discretion of DHL. Team DHL, a who’s who among Olympic and Paralympic medalists and past recipients of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Spirit Award, will share their own personal encounters with the Olympic Spirit while serving as ambassadors for the DHL U.S. Olympic Spirit Cards Contest as well as the official panel of judges for selecting the grand prize winners.
