Fuel Surcharge
Changes in fuel prices result in fluctuating costs for the transport industry, necessitating a variable fuel surcharge which may rise, fall or be removed, in line with movements in fuel prices.
The fuel surcharge for international, Time Definite and Day Definite services will be based on the monthly average spot prices for kerosene/jet fuel (monthly average spot prices are found on the U.S Gulf Coast Index), as published by the US Department of Energy
. Prices are expressed in (USD) cents per US gallon.

The calculation of fuel surcharge is applied to net transportation charges as well as the following transportation-related service charges when applicable: Non Standard Delivery, Non Standard Pickup, Over Weight Piece, Over Sized Piece, Remote Area Service and Saturday Delivery.
There will be a two month lag in the application of the index. For example, the monthly average price for fuel in January is used to determine the applicable surcharge for March. This is due to the release dates of the spot pricing data.
