Can EasyShip Professional be installed on more than one PC?
No. A separate CD with a unique waybill key must be requested for each PC.
How do I print using a network printer?
EasyShip requires the use of local services that use local user names and passwords. In order for EasyShip to use network based printers or domain network based printer shares, you will need to gain the assistance of your company's IT/Network administrator.

The administrator will need to perform the following steps:

  1. Install EasyShip as described in the install guide.

  2. Provide EasyShip PERMANENT credentials (logon and password) for network resources. Permanent credentials must be used to prevent any down time and confusion going forward.

  3. If the PC is off the domain but accessing domain based resources (that is, printers with specific user names and passwords), do one of the following:
    • Configure the requested printer to allow EasyShip access.
    • Configure the EasyShip machine to have access to the printer.
The preferred method is to allow EasyShip access to the resource.

  4. If you want the machine on the domain, add the machine to the domain.

One factor to consider when placing a machine on the domain: the domain user must be added as the local administrator.

  5. Share out the network printer or domain printer share needed by EasyShip.

  6. Open the Administrative Services window. (Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.)

  7. Double-click DHL SwiftShip Service.

  8. On the DHL SwiftShip Service properties window, click the Log On tab, and then click Browse.

  9. Enter the network credentials that EasyShip is to use for accessing the network resources, and then click OK.

  10. Dismiss the properties window and then restart the DHL SwiftShip Service.

If the network credentials are valid and accepted, the restart will occur without issue. If the credentials are not valid, the service will not start. Go back to Step 9 and re-enter the correct credentials.

  11. Share the printer on the EasyShip machine. There are several methods for doing this. Two methods are detailed below:

Type the server name \\server_name or \\ip_address into an Explorer or Internet Explorer Location bar and press enter.

If the resource exists without you having to logon, you should have no access issues going forward. If you do experience issues, see steps 3 and 4.

When you are able to access the server, double-click the printer you are trying to access in the Explorer window. You will be prompted to add the driver, if it does not exist. Otherwise the printer will be added to your local printers as a network based printer.

Access the printer or printer share through the network neighborhood and double-click to add. Some searching may be required to find this resource.

  12. Once the printer has been added and the DHL SwiftShip Service has a valid logon, you will be able to select the printer for EasyShip use by using the EasyShip User Interface. (On the EasyShip Settings menu, click Configure Workstation to access the printer selection dialog.)
